AhlulBayt News Agency: Iranian Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi stated that the United States was facing a severe shortage of weaponry, despite deploying the full scale of its military might to the West Asia region to try to target Tehran.
Speaking during a televised interview on Friday, Shekarchi noted that Washington was facing a severe shortage of weaponry amid the war with Tehran."They have tested all their weapons. They have even brought out weapons that had been stored away for a third world war, yet they are still facing shortages," he said.He added that, given the current weakened state of the American military, Washington could face difficulties if it became involved in another conflict."If the United States were to enter another conflict with other countries tomorrow, it would face serious difficulties. That is because they have brought all their capabilities into the battlefield so that they would not be disgraced. Yet fortunately they have already been disgraced, and they will suffer even greater disgrace," the military official continued.
According to Shekarchi, Iranian counterattacks have targeted more than a dozen American military installations across the region."So far, 14 American military bases have been struck by Iran. [This is while,] they spent billions of dollars to establish dominance over the West Asia region and implemented advanced technologies and capabilities in those bases," he added. As a case in point, the spokesman cited an incident that had occurred earlier in the day at the US base in Bahrain, saying details of the reprisal that targeted the facility would shortly be reported across the media.
The sheer intensity of the Iranian retaliation had prompted the US to constantly need to evacuate dead and wounded Americans from the targeted outposts, the spokesperson said, adding American facilities in the Persian Gulf kingdom had suffered a specially high number of casualties. The damage inflicted on US bases would take years to repair, he emphasized."The current condition of these bases is such that many of them cannot be rebuilt for at least the next five years. Many of them have been turned into ruins. All of the investments the United States made over more than 50 years have been destroyed," Shekarchi continued.
He argued that the situation leaves Washington with limited options in the conflict."For this reason, the United States has absolutely no option, but defeat and surrender in the war it has started," the military official said, adding, "What has happened to the United States over the past few days is unprecedented in the entire history of America.""The US military is a demoralized and exhausted force," he noted. He went on to caution that Iran was poised to intensify its retaliation against American and Israeli targets."Our attacks against the United States and the Zionist regime will intensify every day," the spokesman stated, and underlined, "We will unveil more surprises for the United States and the Zionist regime."
The spokesperson also said Iran had not blocked maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, except for the traffic featuring vessels affiliated to Washington or Tel Aviv. The vessels, he underscored, "will certainly be struck."In light of the current state of affairs, Shekarchi added, regional countries should reconsider hosting US military bases."Countries in the region must understand that US bases bring them insecurity rather than security," he continued. This is while, despite posing "a serious threat to the United States and Israel", the Islamic Republic poses no threat to the regional countries.“So far, we have caused absolutely no damage to the nations of the region and have not targeted the sovereignty of any country," he noted.
The US and Israel started a fresh round of aerial aggression on Iran in late February, some eight months after they carried out unprovoked assaults on the country. The raids led to the martyrdom of at least 1,300 people, mostly civilians, as well as military commanders.Iran began to swiftly and firmly retaliate against the strikes by launching barrages of missile and drone attacks on the Israeli-occupied territories as well as on US bases in regional countries.
